Castle Hill

Castle Hill is reputed to be haunted by the ghost of a soldier killed at the Battle of Torrington, which took place here on 16th February, 1646.

 

The area is also haunted by a spectral black dog, which is an integral part of Devon ghostlore.

Great Torrington (often abbreviated to Torrington) is a small market town in Devon, England.

Parts of it are sited on high ground with steep drops down to the River Torridge below.
